This group is a forum and place to meet for those of us who do Private Tutoring. Monthly meetings focus on a variety of topics relevant to owning and operating your own private tutoring business, including; Why start a tutoring business?, How to get your tutoring business off the ground, Why do parents look for a Tutor?, School referrals, The best kind of advertising, designing individualized lesson plans, learning styles [as if you haven?t heard enough already] =) How to motivate a teenager, and Tutoring over the summer and during track-out! Some meetings will be "presentation" format while other meetings will be "discussion" format or a combination of both.

Although this group will primarily focus on improving TUTORING practices and running a tutoring business, PARENTS who are in need of a tutor and all public and private school classroom TEACHERS are always welcome to join us!

Hello! I took a leap of faith and worked as a 3rd grade Remediation Teacher this spring - and loved it! Though I am not a certified teacher - I do have a BA in Anthropology - I am now interested in private tutoring. I live in Johnston County.
